It all started at an organic ranch nestled in California’s scenic Ojai Valley. An itch for entrepreneurship, a love of garlic, and frequent requests for, “that garlic thing,” launched Seven Oaks Farm, the proud manufacturer of Garlic Gold® USDA certified organic food products.
An 11th grade entrepreneurship project for Orion Brutoco and three classmates soon had Orion’s dad (serial entrepreneur Rinaldo Brutoco) involved. With imagination and a lot of energy, the students took Rinaldo’s coveted recipe for a unique, homemade garlic condiment, and launched a start-up that turned into a real business. The original product was a combination of hand crafted, crunchy, toasted garlic nuggets and first cold pressed organic extra-virgin olive oil, which the students learned to hand bottle and label. A farmer’s market stand, opened and operated by Rinaldo and the students, soon led to rave reviews—“It’s Crunchy!”
