FARRM: Farm Animal Rescue and Rehoming Movement (FARRM) is an animal sanctuary near Wetaskiwin, AB, operating under values affirmed in a vegan lifestyle, with facilities for surrendered and abused farm animals. FARRM started as an initiative to help the growing number of abandoned potbelly pigs, ran a support network for these homeless & abused animals, and after great success with that initiative (and with over 100 potbelly pigs rescued and rehomed in under a year), the movement continued to expand and FARRM was officially created. FARRM expands their reach to not only potbelly pigs, but also to other farm type animals that find themselves victims of the fad pet mentality, or those that are valued only for the price of their flesh. Most FARRM residents have endured traumatic life experiences or have significant behavioural and/or medical needs. FARRM is committed to ensuring sanctuary residents live happy, healthy lives.
